About Mull

Mull is much bigger than many people realise – 53 miles from end to end, mainly single-track roads and always something to make you stop and look – everything takes so much longer.

Added to which there is so much to do. Here’s a very personal list of some of them.

Islands

  • Iona –    a must for most – deserves a whole day to itself to give you time to get beyond the Abbey and get the feel of the island itself. A very special place.

  • Ulva –   Less well known but just as magical. A must for walkers as well as wild life enthusiasts this also deserves a full day.
  • Treshnish Isles – the place for bird watchers and anyone who loves puffins. Another day trip.
  • Staffa – Fingal’s Cave - a tourist attraction for 250 years. Even Queen Victoria visited here. A day trip but can be combined with the Treshnish Isles.

History
Visit Duart and Torosay Castles –very different but both fascinating. Explore the deserted villages of the clearances.

Beaches

Discover the various beautiful white sandy beaches – you could well have one to yourselves.
