About Us
Starting life as the Cosy Cafe in the 60's the Tobermory Hotel has evolved through various B&B
's to its present form, the latest addition being the old dental surgery.
In the year 2000 ian and Andi gave up teaching and arrived on the 1st August with two small children, a dog and a sailing dinghy on a trailer packed with furniture. Since then the Tobermory Hotel has gone from strength to strength. Our philosophy is to value our staff as our main asset and this is passed on to our guests in the relaxed and friendly but efficient service the hotel is renowned for. Staying at the Tobermory Hotel you will not find the space and facilities of a corporate city centre hotel but a building of character and a place you can really feel at ease.
It is impossible to live in a place like Tobermory without becoming involved in the community. Island life fosters self sufficiency, a can do approach and a willingness to help. Andi has put her dance/drama background to good use in dance classes, courses with the Scottish Ballet and a thriving youth theatre based at Mull Theatre.
Ian on the other hand may sometimes disappear without warning. After 5 years on the lifeboat crew he is now the Lifeboat Operations Manager for Tobermory RNLI . and has to run when the pager goes.
For a suitable donation a trip over the boat can be arranged.
