Celebrations start with a Hogmanay gala dinner
followed by celebrations round the town clock
and fireworks over the bay, then back to the
hotel for a Tobermory Malt to toast the New
Year. |

‘My partner and I stayed at the Tobermory
Hotel for their New Year House party 05/06.
The whole weekend could not be faulted. The welcome was
very warm - how many hotels greet residents who arrive
at 9.15am with a smile, a huge pot of tea and biscuits
and make sure their room is cleaned immediately? This
one did.
The hosts, Ian and Andi, are so good at their trade that
the whole weekend seemed just like a gathering of
friends. The staff they employ have the same attitude of
friendly, efficient service, and an infectious sense of
humour.
The New Year weekend programme was lovely, with "clear
your head" walks, local musicians to entertain us, and
hilarious quizzes to bring the whole group together. But
nothing was compulsory, so everyone could come and go as
they pleased without any pressure to join in.
And last, but by no means least, the food. The menus
were well thought out over the whole weekend, the food
was beautifully cooked, using fresh local produce, and
was just right for a Scottish island in December /
January.’
