Bookings & Deposit
We do not take provisional bookings. A 50% deposit is required to confirm a booking. All bookings, unless other payment is expressed, must be supported by a valid credit or debit card, in-date up to the end of the guests stay. Guests liability for their account is not waived and guests agree to be held personally liable in the event that any indicated person, group, company or association fails to pay all or part of any charges incurred. Please note that we do not accept American Express.

Cancellation Policy
50% deposit is taken upon booking. The deposit is fully refundable if a room reservation is cancelled more than 30 days prior to arrival. If cancelled less than 30 days but more than 3 days prior to arrival, then the 50% deposit is retained. The remaining deposit is taken 3 days prior to arrival. Any notice of cancellation which is given 3 days or less prior to arrival, is non-refundable.

The above rule excludes packages, groups and party bookings, discounted bookings and specials, which are all fully chargeable from the time they were made.

If your travel is disrupted by ferry cancellation/disruption our cancellation policy still applies.  We are unable to offer a refund so please ensure you have your own travel insurance. We can move your booking up to 30 days after your arrival date should you come accross any issues on the day which prevent you from staying with us.

Check-in/Check-out Policy
Rates quoted are based on the check-in date and length of stay shown. Our check-in time is from 3pm onwards and check-out is 10am. If you need to check in after 10pm, please inform us at your earliest convenience so we can provide you with after hours access information. Should you for any reason depart earlier than the departure date confirmed, the full payment taken for the stay will be retained.

Please note any requests for twin beds must be made no later than 24 hours prior to arrival, and is subject to availability.

We would strongly advise planning your route and booking necessary ferries with www.calmac.co.uk well in advance. For travel guidance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Vehicles/Parking/Bicycles
Parking in Tobermory may be limited, especially during our busier times. There is a free car park located a 3 minute walk away. It is free of charge and is by the harbour building on the Main Street. There are also free parking spaces all across the main street.

Bicycles are not permitted inside the hotel, however Tobermory is a very small and safe town, and bikes can be parked and locked up on the Main street itself.

Nothing in these terms or conditions shall limit or restrict the guests’ legal rights as a consumer. Advice concerning such rights may be obtained from a Citizens Advice Bureau.

Pets
Well-behaved dogs are very welcome at the hotel and bar, and it's just £13.50 per dog, per night. Maximum 2 dogs per guest. We do request that dogs are not left alone in the rooms.

We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying any damage caused by pets to the hotels property or structure.

Guests will be charged extra for any stained towels or linens.

Lift
Please be advised that our rooms are located over 3 stories and we DO NOT have a lift. We do not offer porterage or a porter service, so kindly ensure that all guests only pack what they can carry to their rooms themselves.

If you require a room on a lower floor due to mobility issues, please contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you, if we have availability.

Rate Rules/Restrictions
Rates confirmed are for the number of occupants listed in your confirmation, per room, per night.

Tour and package rates vary according to the features of the specific package or program offered. The applicable charges for the packages confirmed are indicated in your confirmation details. Applicable taxes, service charges, and value added tax (VAT), if applicable, will be added to the hotel bill unless indicated as a package feature. The taxes, service charges and value added tax shown on your confirmation are those currently in effect. Taxes, service charges, etc. are subject to change without notice according to local law.

Revisions
Any changes to the arrival date, departure date, or room type of this reservation is subject to the hotels availability at the time the change is requested and may result in a possible rate change and/or service fee. If you need to make changes to your reservation call 01688 302091 or email stay@thetobermoryhotel.com.  We reserve the right to cancel or modify reservations where it appears that a customer has engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity.

Damage to Hotel Property
We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying any damage caused by deliberate, negligent or reckless act of a guest to the hotels property or structure.

Guests will be charged extra for any stained towels or linens.

Keys
Any keys lost or damaged will result in a £50 charge. When leaving the hotel, please ensure you handover your key at reception.

We strongly advice leaving your key at reception if heading out for the day, this will minimise risk of loss and will enable us to have a better understanding of those withing the building, should an emergency take place.

Inappropriate Behaviour
It is the hotels policy that all our guests have the right to be treated with dignity and respect and as a responsible host we believe that we have a duty to our guests and staff to protect them from inappropriate behaviour. Should any actions by a guest be deemed inappropriate by a member of staff or the owners, or if any inappropriate behaviour is brought to the attention of a member of staff or the owners, the hotel reserves the right, to act against the guest. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, the Police may become involved at the hotel’s discretion, or guests may be asked to leave the hotel. This includes aggressive behaviour to hotel staff and incitement to cause discord with other guests.

Wi-Fi
Please note that internet and phone signal on the island is poor, however, Wi-Fi is provided free of charge at the Hotel. The Tobermory Hotel takes no responsibility for and will not be liable for Wi-Fi being unavailable due to technical issues beyond our control; no guarantee of any sort is given that Wi-Fi will be available. Anyone using Wi-Fi or Open Zone (pay as you go) does so on the understanding that they will not download pornographic images of any sort, criminal or terrorist information, or material covered by copyright. Users will also not submit defamatory information on any social network site using the Hotels Wi-Fi network. The Tobermory Hotel will not be held liable for any misuse of the Wi-Fi by its residents or guests.

Lost / Damaged Property
Should any guest lose any belongings during their stay or incur damage to their property, the provision of the Hotel Proprietors Act 1956 will apply, a copy of which is displayed in reception. If we find any lost property, we will make every reasonable effort to locate the owner and return it, but if we cannot locate the owner and an item is not reclaimed with 3 months of the guest’s departure it will be disposed of by the hotel. We ask guests to contact us as soon as they suspect they have left an item behind.

Payment Terms
Full payment will be made 3 days prior to arrival in line with our cancellation policy by credit cards that are acceptable to our machine. (We do not take American Express.) These are indicated on the door and reception; however, the hotel reserves the right to refuse any transaction type without out giving reason. Cash, travellers’ cheques and cheques are not accepted at our reception. All bills must be settled in full on leaving.

Privacy Policy
Any personal data you give us when making an enquiry or a booking with the Tobemory Hotel will be stored securely on our booking system for a reasonable period of time. We will not send any marketing information to you unless you have given permission. We will not pass on any information to any third parties unless it is a legal requirement to do so or requested by you to do so.
We require a full address and telephone number to secure a booking. Credit/ debit card or other payment details and special requirements such as those relating to any disability or medical condition disclosed to us will be deleted after a short period of time; these details will not be passed onto third parties unless requested by the person involved. For example, if a Taxi Driver needs to know that a wheelchair user is to be conveyed.

Removal of Hotel Property
We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of replacing any items that are removed from the premises by them without consent. The charge will be the full new replacement amount of the missing item, including any carriage charges.

Smoking
The Tobermory Hotel does not allow smoking on it's premises. A fixed penalty fine of £250 may be made against anyone breaking the law as stated on the entrances to the hotel.

Tampering with Fire Detection Systems and Fire Fighting Equipment.
We reserve the right to take action against any guest found to have tampered/interfered with any fire detection equipment throughout the hotel. Guests found to have tampered with any fire detection or firefighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and additionally maybe asked to leave the hotel. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, the Police may become involved at the hotels discretion.

CCTV
Please be advised that we have visual and audible CCTV throughout the hotel for the safety and protection of both staff and guests
